English Version:

Dr. B.R. Ambedkar (1891–1956) was a visionary leader, social reformer, and one of the key architects of modern India. Born into a Dalit family, Ambedkar fought against caste discrimination and worked tirelessly for the upliftment of marginalized communities. He is best known for his role in drafting the Indian Constitution, which enshrined the principles of equality, justice, and liberty for all citizens.

Ambedkar’s commitment to social justice was unmatched, and his efforts to dismantle the entrenched caste system in India made him a champion for the oppressed. However, his views on Hinduism, particularly regarding Lord Ram, have sparked significant controversy. In his work “Riddles in Hinduism”, Ambedkar made several harsh criticisms of Lord Ram, which many scholars and devout Hindus believe reveals his personal bias against certain aspects of Hindu tradition. His interpretations of the Ramayana and his portrayal of Ram as a symbol of Brahmanical oppression have been described by critics as one-sided and deeply flawed. Some even consider his views on Lord Ram to be extreme, reflecting a personal agenda against the traditional narratives rather than a balanced critique.

Despite these controversies, Ambedkar remains a towering figure in Indian history, revered for his efforts to secure social equality and his intellectual prowess. His work continues to inspire those who strive for justice and equality, though his criticisms of key Hindu figures, such as Lord Ram, demonstrate that his views were not free from personal bias and selective interpretation.
